The club has developed a close relationship with IT and the HSU Library, which is home to a flight simulator that Kanga Livingstone and other club members raised funds for and installed. Kanga Livingstone formed the PC Gaming Club in 2018, beginning with a focus on League of Legends and esports. Kanga Livingstone worked with HSU’s IT department to implement the launch. Unique to HSU’s server is the University’s support: Kanga Livingstone approached Jason Meriwether, VP of Enrollment Management, with the idea, and he agreed to have his division pay for the server. Kanga Livingstone got the idea to develop an HSU Minecraft server after seeing other universities with their own servers. The HSU Minecraft server is open to HSU students, faculty, and staff, as well as students from other CSUs, and local high school students (one of whom has already beaten the game, Kanga Livingstone says). The area where players spawn is, appropriately, green and gold, and players can find HSU logos around the world during their explorations. There’s a community garden, where players can find food and other resources necessary to keep their characters alive. Kanga Livingstone has been developing a landscape to support and intrigue players. Exploration and creation are a major part of Minecraft’s timeless appeal. The central goal is essentially to survive, eventually defeating a “final boss” to see the game’s credits. In its current “story mode,” players are deposited in the world and must build tools, shelters, and find food using raw materials found around the virtual landscape. Their vision is a digital replica of HSU, where players can carry out the tasks and missions of the game in a safe and supportive environment, designed by and for their peers. Wildlife senior Sarah Kanga Livingstone launched the HSU Minecraft server, and serves as the lead administrator. Minecraft server administrators have a wide range of tools to shape their world - imagine an enormous digital Lego collection. Available on multiple platforms for more than a decade, it’s become the best selling video game of all time, and its blocky characters and in-game elements are widely recognizable. Minecraft is a “sandbox game”, giving the players the ability to build, shape, and craft the world around them. HSU’s PC Gaming Club launched its very own Minecraft server last weekend, inviting students and others to help build a new, localized social gaming community.

Select your save directory, name the file, and click ‘Save’.Authenticate using your password or Touch ID.To export passwords stored in Keychain on macOS into a CSV file, do the following: How To Export Keychain Passwords From macOS The reason is that a CSV file contains all the information in plain text, so borrowing someone’s device to do this can be quite insecure. If you don’t own such a device, we recommend manually adding all credentials to the password manager of your choice instead of using a friend or relative’s Mac. Tap Passwords and Keychain and activate it.Īfter the data is synced, you can use your macOS device to export your passwords into a CSV file.Since exporting iCloud Keychain passwords directly from an iPhone or iPad isn’t possible, Apple users need to first sync their passwords with their macOS device by turning on iCloud Keychain: How To Export iCloud Keychain Passwords Stored on iOS Devices However, exporting passwords from iCloud Keychain can only be done from a Mac or MacBook. Most password managers support CSV files, an import and export format Apple added to its system with the launch of macOS Monterey. How To Export Passwords From iCloud Keychain Fortunately, exporting passwords from iCloud Keychain and importing them into a password manager is relatively simple. Also, organizing usernames and passwords in vaults and sharing them with third parties is only possible with password managers. Although Apple seamlessly syncs data across trusted devices, if you also use Windows or Android devices daily, you can’t rely solely on iCloud Keychain to easily access your information. These include having devices that aren’t limited to Apple’s ecosystem, wanting to categorize passwords, and needing to share them with family, friends, or coworkers. There are many reasons for wanting to move data from iCloud Keychain to a password manager. Our lives are never just one thing – they are everything in a blink that all end the same way. There are multiple tracks to our existence that we coast by on simultaneously. Moments in Love is particularly adept at juxtaposing our imagined lives with our realities. With all due respect to This Is Us, but this is us. Episode 2, in particular, is a reminder that life is what happens in between the moments we hang up our jackets and put them back on. Its collateral damage is the connections we hold dear in our lives. But Master of None‘s stakes are merely everyday happiness. Eleven is busy saving the world in Stranger Things and June is trying to save America in The Handmaid’s Tale. Yet Moments in Love is a beautiful depiction of real relationships and real life outside the life-or-death concerns that permeate Peak TV. The temptation for impatient viewers to play with their phones in between long stretches of targeted silence will be palpable. Seasons 1 and 2 were always deliberately paced, but Season 3 is even more languid and slow-moving than its predecessors. This may be achingly relatable to some and infinitely frustrating to others. The series, co-created by Alan Yang ( Little America, Parks and Recreation) has always trafficked in authenticity, but Season 3 takes its mumblecore naturalism to a new level. The show understands that our growth is best seen in hindsight, while we’re often blinded by the moment when we’re in it. Master of None‘s return is less about seasonal arcs, though they are apparent, and more about strong episodic glimpses into ourselves. The kindness of strangers, the lingering sting of an argument with a loved one, eating in your car, dancing in your kitchen. Not in the sense that these new episodes yearn for a time gone by, but in their ability to expertly capture seemingly disparate chapters of life. “Welcome to the past,” Denise tells Alicia in the season finale in what could be Moments in Love‘s ultimate thesis. Co-written by Waithe and Ansari, the latter of whom also directs all five episodes, the new season chronicles Denise’s relationship following the success of her debut novel in a modern love story that intimately illustrates the ups and downs of marriage, struggles with fertility, and personal growth both together and apart. Master of None: Moments in Love removes the magnifying glass situated over Dev’s (Ansari) life in favor of Denise (Lena Waithe) and her partner Alicia (Naomi Ackie). Yet the final five-episode product is a blush of heartwarming realism that lends credence to the adage that distance makes the heart grow fonder. Mileage will vary on this newly refocused and glacially paced return, particularly after co-creator Aziz Ansari was met with a controversial sexual misconduct allegation in 2018 that struck a divide within the #MeToo movement. Now, after four long years, Season 3 has finally arrived to remake the series in a new image that still shares the same DNA. Two years later, a more ambitious and melodic second season debuted, improving on the formula with a change of scenery and rewarding detours. That first batch of episodes still stand as a unique blend of both coming of age and rom-com genre tropes with a distinct cultural perspective. If timing is everything then what should we make of Netflix (NFLX)’s Master of None? The charming and offbeat first season arrived six years ago, a lifetime in the voluminous and forward-charging television arena. Lena Waithe as Denise and Naomi Ackie as Alisha in Season 3 of Netflix’s Master of None. However, to try it for a while, you can download it as a trial version. In my case I installed it on a Garmin Fenix 6 and Edge 830 (and 530). These will be available for most recent Garmin devices. Meanwhile, I got to installing the Connect IQ apps. Notably however, it does allow you to pair to a heart rate strap, which in turn shows that data in the app (and at present, helps to trigger enablement of sport mode versus 24×7 mode). The smartphone app pairs with the CORE and allows you to configure a handful of settings on the pod/app, but for the most part it’s slim pickins today: Sure, you may be using an optical HR sensor on your watch these days, but if not – this is an easy method. On their site they’ve got armbands and such, but probably the most common for most athletes will just be to a standard chest heart rate strap. The company says it’ll even work underwater swimming to accurately measure your temperature.Īs noted earlier there’s numerous ways you can mount it. This is the skin side of the pod, and the unit works via heat transfer from your body to it, and then measuring said heat. Here’s a closer look at the back of the pod, and a size comparison to a standard SD card: So you’ll want to charge it with a wall port, computer, or something else that isn’t a smart charger. I did however discover that it doesn’t charge well on USB battery packs, since the power draw is so low that most USB battery packs simply think it stopped requesting a charge. CORE claims a battery life of 6 days of monitoring, though I haven’t quite been able to verify that thus far due to some beta bugs around charging indicators. You’ll also find a small USB charging cable, which uses magnets to attach to the CORE pod and charge it up. CORE says official spec for each sticker is 1 day, but in practice it’s around 3 days. These allow you to mount it to your body without needing a strap. In the box you’ll find the CORE temp sensor, as well as a pile of sticky pads. They’ve been making other sensors since then. Speaking of which, ‘them’, is technically a company called greenTEG AG, which was a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in 2009. As usual, once I’m done with this thing I’ll send the loaner unit back to them. As such, I did encounter numerous beta bugs that sound like they’re already in the pipeline to get resolved before units start shipping to everyone else. They just launched the product for sale today, though, it’s definitely still beta-quality. I was mostly curious about the sports tech side, and whether or not it’s worth the 249EUR for the sensor. In these situations the CORE can even connect to NPE WASP systems for Skynet style data monitoring. The sensor can also monitor in a 24×7 mode as well, useful for longer term tracking – or even tracking how long it takes to get the body cooled back down after a horrifically hot workout.Īnd beyond sport there are far greater potential applications, primarily in so-called ‘workforce monitoring’, which can include hot factories, military deployments in the desert, and more (even COVID-19 related implementations). Thus, I was able to track my core temperature within 0.1☌ on my Garmin Fenix 6 watch just the same as my Wahoo ROAM bike computer, and my smartphone as well.Ĭertainly while the weather here (topping out at 91☏/32.7☌) isn’t likely to get me into too much trouble given the duration of most of my workouts, hotter temperatures and longer durations could – and a UCI WorldTour team this season is using it to keep tabs on their riders. Ultimately, it broadcasts your body’s skin and core temperature (two different data points) out over ANT+ & Bluetooth Smart. However, it can also attach via stickers or arm bands. In my case, I simply wore it attached to a heart rate strap. This small sensor, about the size of 1.5 dominos, can be mounted numerous ways. And, for the last couple weeks I’ve been using and wearing the new CORE continuous body temperature sensor during all my workouts. However, as luck would have it – one of those times is right now. It’s rare for there to be meaningful heat in the Netherlands, often only a handful of times each summer. It's very edgy stuff from war zones, sex, drugs and violence," says Altimeter Group media analyst Rebecca Lieb.ĭespite that image, Vice co-founders Smith and Suroosh Alvi, also 44, have stayed focused on their core belief: to tell stories that others don't tell, often with a personal perspective, and to serve the under served. "Vice is very much built on bad boy content. When Vice reached 2 million YouTube subscribers, Smith made good on a promise to go to work naked - sporting just tattoos, a cod piece and a beer. Smith, a star of its videos, personifies Vice's bold attitude. Vice counts 4.8 million subscribers across its various YouTube channels. Video has been a big focus from Vice, Vox and others. Sometimes dubbed Vice's far-flung media empire spans books, its magazine, an HBO series and foreign television. Vice also operates a network of vertical interest sites such as Noisey - which covers music, creates events and produces music videos in another line item of income - that the publisher says amount to millions more viewers. Vox Media's tech-focused Web site The Verge has more than doubled, to about 7.2 million. Likewise, BuzzFeed has nearly doubled to 22.6 million monthly unique visitors. Monthly unique Internet visitors to Vice have tripled to about 7.5 million, according to measurement firm comScore. In the past year, Vice has made huge Internet traffic gains. Vice, which states it is profitable but does not disclose figures, hauled in more than $175 million in revenue in 2012 and is on track to surpass that figure, according to unnamed sources who were not authorized to speak on behalf of the company. The publisher is adding "dozens" of new correspondents, hosts, producers and editors to build out a new News section and a Vice News YouTube channel. That's what's really been resonating with our audience. "We tell stories that a lot of other people don't tell, and we tell them in a different way. "Our audience is actually saying make more news," Smith says. Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox in August injected $70 million into Vice, swelling the wealth of co-founder and CEO Shane Smith, 44, worth a reported $400 million on a $1.4 billion company valuation. Internet traffic-focused BuzzFeed this year attracted $19 million in funding, while Henry Blodget's Business Insider took in $5 million and is rumored for sale at $100 million. In October, Vox Media landed $40 million in funding from Silicon Valley venture firm Accel Partners to expand video efforts at its Web destinations The Verge, SB Nation and Polygon. Vice reporters are "one of us" and sometimes what they report really "punches you in the stomach," says Tom Freston, a former Viacom and MTV executive who is an investor and informal adviser to Vice. Vice eschews traditional broadcast news for behind-the-scenes storytelling, offering an alternative to the likes of CNN. Vice has blasted off from scrappy origins as a culture zine out of Canada to an online juggernaut of provocative media whose coverage spans the world's affairs.
